A two-element planar multiple input multiple output array for ultra-wideband applications

<span>In this article, a planar monopole two-element multiple input output (MIMO) array has been designed and characterized with the intention of ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) working bandwidth (BW) 13.258 GHz between 3.394-16.652 GHz, fractional BW (FBW) 132.28% respect to center frequency 10.023 GHz. two elements MIMO are 900 polarizations mismatched for better isolation. Consequently, less than 20 dB isolation achieved throughout entire BW. Also observed was good combined realized peak gain up 5.85 dBi total efficiency greater 85%. For performance key parameters, exhibits envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) &lt;0.0033, diversity (DG) &gt;9.983, active reflection (TARC) &lt;0.445, mean effective difference (MEG12) ≈0 dB, channel capacity loss (CCL) &lt;0.4 bps/Hz. This design would encourage designers create high-performance antennas UWB frequency-related applications.</span>
